Current Music: Fractured lyrics of "The Sound of Silence" stuck in my head
I've been giving an innordinate amount of thought recently to Werewolf: The Apocalypse. I enjoy the game immensly, and am currenty playing 2 characters (in 2 different campaigns, of course). While in one game I'm playing a character who was turned into a werewolf much against her will (yes, its a her... long story short, I was going for a B-movie horror chick - she's a flake and not as much fun to roleplay as I thought she would be), the other character is a bad-ass killing machine. He's also a character I've put a lot of thought into, and he's probably my best character to date. He's an Ahroun (warrior of warriors) Get of Fenris (really bad-ass tribe of werewolves... again, the warrior's warrior), but he's not all about killing. He's actually fairly level headed, and is trying hard to become alpha of his pack and attain rank 4 (of 5, or 6 if you wanna get technical). He's got some interesting personality characteristics, and to make a long story short, he's a bit naive... he's making progress towards being more worldly, however. I could go on and on talking about him, getting really into detail, but if anybody who's reading this wants to know more about one of my werewolf characters, they should do 2 things:
1.) leave a comment on this post
2.) seriously ask yourself why you want to know the inner thougts of a fictional character in a game about the destruction of the world as we know it.
I'm also thinking about starting my own chronicle for werewolf - I've bought most of the books I would need to do this off Ebay... now all I need is to solidify all the random plot ideas I have bouncing around inside my skull into a cohesive story that is generic enough I can run any group of characters through it without either tearing them to shreds or boring them to death.
Moving on: Spent last weekend at home with the parents and some extended family. Had a great time, and was very happy with the maturity of my two cousins. One is 13, the other 5, and they're both mature for their age. I'm not saying they're not KIDS, I'm just saying that they aren't bouncing off the walls, screaming at the top of their lungs, annoying to the core little hell raisers. The older one, who I don't have an internet-nic to refer to him as, was especially fun to hang with. Reminded me a bit of myself at his age (although I was definatly more geeky than him, so there are differences). Anyway, I bought him a knife in a desperate attempt to make me the cool cousin he tells all his friends about. *shrug* Wasn't too expensive, but his parents are a just a bit too far on the overprotective side of things, IMHO. They've raised a wonderfully mature child who thinks things through before he does them, generally... but they don't give him any privleges or responsabilities to go along with this maturity. He's been raised well. He deserves a little more credit than his parents are giving him - if he gets in trouble with the little knife I gave him, I'll be both surprised and not terribly worried. Its a learning experience, and one I think every kid needs.
In other news, progress goes along well for making my own Tribes 2 video. I've been recording a lot of my playing recently (one of the reasons I've not posted here in the past 2 weeks) and I'm getting better as time goes on. My sense of timing has improved, and I'm remembering things that I'd forgotten from back when I was in top dueling form. YAY!
Getting close to bed time now... I think I'll have a home-brew and dive under the covers. |
